Casa Mayor
We and our son stayed in Casa Mayor after we visited many provinces in Cuba and booked in casas particulares, this house is not easy to find, but we were very lucky when we found Casa Mayor.
This house was the best for us in Cuba. We do not have a words for explain who we feel with Casa Mayor's family. They are the most friendly, educated and professional people that we knew in Cuba.
We recomended this house and if you visit Cienfuegos try to find Casa Mayor, you can telephone call the owners and they will pick you up where you stay. you will be very lucky like us.

I stayed in casa mayor from june 20 -26 of 2010 I had the best hospitality.I felt like i was with family they treat you great.I visited several particular homes and also diffrent places in cuba but off all of them this was my favorite i guarantee you that if you stay with Daysi and Antonio you will feel like you are in a retreat everything in this house is so beautiful they have a terrace that just is breath taking the back yard is astonishing.when you get there you might say the area is not touristic or not a commercial area but i tell you something go to the house you will feel like you are in a retreat don't just say no i dont want to stay here go to the house and i guarantee you you will not want to leave.i didnt reserve through cubajunky.com but this site i thank for recommending me to this home.now i recommend it to everyone.All my friends that are going to cuba i told them to go and stay at this home because i loved it so much.there is just no word to explain the service the furniture they have and the cleanliness to just everything in the home,and the food wow let me not even remember makes me want to go back right away great food finger licking :) loved everything there and i know you will too.

How was your room? My room where should i start the sheets where super clean the room was clean.nothing i could say but great wonderful and beautiful romantic quiet private safe.awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
How was the food they offer? The food just tasted great.looked great and if you want authentic cuban food this is it can get more authentic than this.:)
Other services they offer They showed me around the sites and Daysi i just felt like she was my sister by the time my trip was over.they showed me all the great places in cuba.
Other comments I really recommend this property.Like i said go to the house dont just look at the area its not a bad area when you get to the house you are going to say wow im in a retreat.Hey atleast thats what i thought and felt like i was in a retreat.I visited several particular homes but this was my favorite.Im sure it will be yours too.call reserve and visit you wont regret it.

Casa Mayor
My stay at casa Mayor Cien Fuegos was a very pleasurable experience. The house house is a very beautiful home. The hosts are very exceptional individuals. The food was very delightful. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the linens, the whites were flawlessly white. The ultimate feature of the home is the peace and relaxation you can obtain there. Definitely, it is a home that I would recommend with no reservations. Casa Mayor is a house I definitely would like to revisit!

How was your room?: My room was beautiful, spacious, extremely clean, and an absolute pleasure to sleep in.

Other comments: In that home there is an abundance of peace. It is a place where you can connect to your spiritual side with out any distractions. If you want to stay in a place where you feel that you are in the comfort of your home or even exceed that comfort, then Casa Mayor is the place to stay.

INSUPERABLE. Without a doubt the most pleasant memories Cuba. Extraordinariamente all polite, friendly, helpful, efficient and professional at home maximo.La limpia.La cute and great food, well made and well served, the table nice and cool drink and good . All in large quantities and high quality.

How was your room?: Very clean, comfortable, roomy, comfortable, nice, very complete with a fridge with cold drinks, air conditioning and CD radio with cds to listen.
The very comfortable bed with good mattress and very clean and perfectly ironed sheets.
Socket 220 (which to me whether it was important).
Large closet and lots of drawers from the bedside tables and dresser with mirror.
The bathroom with bath very clean, big and with all the amenities, the decor very pleasant, hassle-free hot water and towels very clean.
Absolute quiet to sleep.
How was the food they offer?: Wonderful, good quality, freshest products, beautifully prepared and presentados.La table was a spectacle of color and good gusto.En 5 star hotels where we were in Havana and Cayo Santa Maria did not eat like this house or away in Casa Mayor breakfast, lunch and dinner were a real pleasure for its quality as the whole family.
All meals in large quantities.
These dishes we enjoyed in the nicest yard and the dining room is very cozy.
It was certainly better where we ate on our trip to Cuba.

Antonio, the husband of Daysi, we did the huge favor to do for us accompanied by our tour guide sightseeing explained many things and taken directly and without losing time to the most interesting sites, it was a morning of very pleasant.
The whole family are a wonderful hostess, not enough money to pay for good education and good compaies. Antonio is a great doctor with an authentic vocation and will help you with your very willingly CARE INSTRUCTIONS.
Other comments: I refer to the first comment I made on the house.
Cienfuegos worth a visit and of course stay at Casa Mayor, really totally recommended.

hi everywhere,
antonios and daysis casa in cienfuegos , cuba is definitely one of the best you can visit all over the island. i am marryed to a cuban lady and we ve been travelling a lot all over cuba, but i never found such a warm welcoming, clean and nice house like casa mayor !!!! i still have a lot of contact with antonio and daysi and we are planning to go there again in january 2011. the city of cienfuegos is very well maintained and to me its a real caribbean pearl.
you will be living like a member of antonios family in there house... daysi is cooking meals that you will never forget and antonio will take you to sites in the area where a normal tourist never will go....!!!!
we have been there twice , the last time with our little child, she was only one year old and she was treated like a little princess.
you just have to go to casa mayor and stay there for a while to believe me...

Casa Mayor
This is the best hostel in Cienfuegos. I have stayed at different places before but I never I had such a great experience as I did in Casa Mayor. Daysi and Antonio are amazing hosts. They take care of you to the maximum level possible. They speak English as well which is a great advantage. The food was incredibly tasty and healthy. The location was great as well since cienfuegos is a relatively small city and with a car you are in the main town in less than 5 minutes
Definately recommend this place to anybody

My review about the casa: Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful home, friendly, helpful and informative hosts. Unfortunately my husband and I could only stay 2 nights but would definitely return if back in Cuba. I hadn't been well and Daysi made me the most delicious soup. especially enjoyed our trip to the market with Daysi and David. For any visitor to Cienfuegos this casa is a must.

Other services they offer: Pick up and drop off at bus station. david even took me to the clinic when I wasn't well. They also contacted and confirmed our next booking and gave us info on places of interest.

We had booked in for three nights and stayed for 4 nights, left & returned for 2 more nights. We can only reaffirm all of the positive comments posted thus far. We came as casa customers and departed as friends. Daysi, Antonio & David are wonderful hosts, we highly recommend Casa Mayor to anyone who is looking for excellent lodgings while in the Cienfuegos area, the best casa we stayed in in our 3 week trip to Cuba. The food was superb, served in their tranquill courtyard garden setting. We spent hours dining casually & visiting with Daysi & her son David. Joyce even got a salsa lesson from David & we were treated to a dance performance by David & his daughter Wende.
Daysi speeks excellent English & can help you with any information or need you have.
We are sure you will truly enjoy your stay at Casa Mayor, enjoy!

How was the food the offer?: Excellent. We were always asked what we'd like to eat and our every wish was accommodated. All the food prepared for us was fresh & well presented.
Other services they offer: Internet if you need it, bookings for casas in other cities on your travel route. Daysi called ahead for us as we travelled to Trinidad. She called to Habana as well to reconfirm a reservation we had there. Calling taxis & negotiating a good price for taxis out into the country (Botanical garden & Rancho Luna). Pick up at the bus depot when you arrived............whatever our need all we had to do was ask.

I stayed at Casa Mayor for my first visit to Cienfuegos - A little bit out of town, but thats fine as it is a nice sroll into town. I was made to fill so much at home.On my 2nd night I just stay in as the food and company was just fantastic.When I go back to Cienfuegos I know where I will be staying - Thank You Casa Mayor

Casa Mayor occupies a very special place in my travel world, because it found me when I was lost!
Daysi & Antonio helped me find my way & also gave me a tour of their wonderful casa particular/B&B.
Love at first sight! It was a clear case of finding a surprise gem while looking for something else. I vowed to return & did with a friend who was acquired the name of Juan Antonio the professor, masseur & casa papa adopted Juan & me, just like family. We learned of many things from natural health to stingless bees.
Daysi, notable chef & casa mama, ministered to our needs for breakfast & dinner delights, served up with individual care in the spacious, shady garden patio ... crisp chips of malanga included ... wow! Juan remarked several times that versailles wouldn't get much better than this.
I took many photos of my friends surrounded by the artifacts & good life of Casa Mayor. There are sitting rooms, drawing room, the grand fiesta uarter, library, 3rd floor mirador at sunrise & sunset and the accommodating bedrooms. Often in the morning we watched the young students parading by Casa Mayor heading to school. Bright uniforms, bright faces in which we saw professor Mari's ... the future of Cuba.

Casa Mayor
I normally prefer staying in the city centre. Having read about all the positive comments about Casa Major, my friend and I decided to stay there even though it is about 10 minutes' drive from city centre. And we're glad about our decision. I can agree with all the comments that other guests have left - very nice house and well maintained garden, delicious food and, more importantly, very friendly and welcoming hosts. I really enjoyed the conversations with Daysi and Antonio. They were also very helpful in providing us with travel information around Cuba! As a tea-lover, I was impressed by Daysi's extensive collection of tea (which excels many hotels and high-end restaurants)! A highly recommended place to stay!

Casa Mayor, run by Daysi and Antonio, was for us the best casa in Cuba. Warm and welcoming, great house with little garden and terrace on the roof, beautiful rooms and a splendid personal service. Daysi and her son David are superb cooks. No need to go out. This family takes a genuine interest in their guests. We had a lot of nice conversations and discussions on all topics. And we celebrated Christmaseve togheter in their pitoresque garden, with a very tasteful meal (ask for deer) and great company of the whole family. Don't miss out on this briliant place.
