Campings or how Cubans call it, Campismos are a nice and different way to explore Cuba. These parks are located in nature areas and at untouristical beaches. Officially it's not allowed to pin your tent into the ground. You can stay at Campismos in little cabañas, some more luxurious than others, depends on the category rate of the camping.
One "negative" thing is campismos are mostly not near cities or towns. You have to rent a car or bring your bicycle, local transportation is not adviced.
Positive about campismos; you will enjoy your stay in Cuba between locals, the real Cuban vacation.

Besides, officially for a foreigner it is not allowed to stay at Campings wich are meant for Cuban Nationals (N), but ... Cuba shouldn't be Cuba if there are many exceptions to the rule.
For most campings you can not make a reservation, just show up, and ask at the desk ... IF they have any :)
