From the
curing barns in big bundles made with yagua and called packs the leaves
pass to the sorting house, workshop that can be in the fields or in the
towns.
Here
the leaves should suffer the following process: preselection, gentle
loosening , moistening, airing, rest, selection, picadero (where the
different grades are placed), bunching, bundling, baling, control
of plagues and storage, according to the destination of the harvested
tobacco: for wrapper, binder or filler.
The packs
in the sorting house are stored according to the classification already
done by peasants in the curing barn for their sale to the merchant, that
is to say type of leaf: - mañanita, libre de pie, uno y medio,
centro fino, centro gordo and corona. |
