My review: We were passed on to this Casa from one we stayed at the previous night near Mayeri. We stayed here three nights. It is three blocks from the city centre and two blocks from the ocean. It has two rooms for rent both with private bathrooms. Comfortable, clean, good food and friendly helpful owner - Ivan. Would stay here again

My review: We ended up staying at this casa by booking through another casa in Baracoa. We were supposed to have stayed in Santiago de Cuba, but decided to go straight to Baracoa. The casa we had booked, didn't have room for us to stay the 2 days before our booking, but Adrian kindly booked us with this casa.
This casa was new, and the family was very eager to please. They were very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately I was sick while staying with them (not their fault), but they were kind to give us some "easy on the stomach" food and to check in with us.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Roomy, Charming, Safe, Children in the house, Pets in the house, Patio
Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Extra bed available, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: The room was huge! There were 3 beds, and plenty of room left over. There was a private bathroom, it was very small, but clean.
How was the food they offer?: The food was great. They served us some dishes that were specialties of the Baracoan region. They gave us plenty of food, and always served us out on the patio.
Other services they offer: We were able to leave our car parked outside the house.
Other comments: This is a great casa, hosted by a very nice and friendly family. I wish them the best of luck in the new venture! Anyone looking for a place to stay with lots of space and beds for 4 or 5 people - stay here!

Casa Marilin Noa Hernandez

My review: We stayed with Marilin on the recommendation of some friends we met in Cuba and did not regret it. Marilin is a friendly and welcoming host, who makes delcious cocoa, and very tasty meals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the casa, which is just around the corner from the main square in Baracoa and would recommend it to anyone coming to stay in this beautiful little town.

Casa Norge y Nelida Sevila
Address: Flor Crombet No. 265A, e/Glicerio Blanco y Abel Diaz,
City: Baracoa
Tel: 64-3218 Cheap calls to CubaCheap calls to Cuba

My review about the casa: This casa is a good deal, in that it has a large bedroom with a double bed plus an extra single bed; a sitting room-cum-dining room, a bathroom, and a substantial but small balcony at the back from where you can see the sea albeit surrounded by decaying buildings. It also has windows throughout which are good for cross-ventilation and it's in a good position for the centre of town and for the beach. We found it very convenient and comfortable. The food was good.

Casa specifics: Comfortable, Roomy, No frills
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Extra bed available, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Really it was a whole flat, which was spacious and comfortable. The bedroom had room for hanging clothes, the balcony had a washing line and chairs, the sitting room had a fridge, a dining table and two big rocking chairs.
How was the food they offer?: The food was excellent, particularly fish cooked Baracoan style with coconut. Good breakfasts with more variety of fruit than anywhere else in Cuba.
Other services they offer: The laundry service was quick and efficient..
Other comments: They had a large alsation dog but it didn't have access to the flat. The adjoining property was occupied by one of the sons of the family (very friendly) and his wife and baby.

Casa de Pipa y Manuel
Address :
Raul Cepero Bonilla No. 16 (alto) (upper floor), Marti/Rodney Coutin
Baracoa
Tel: (21) 64 2177 Cheap calls to CubaCheap calls to Cuba

Pipa (also known as Delsy) and Manuel rent two rooms in their upper level casa. The rooms have access to a back patio and rooftop terrace. We didnt stay overnight at the casa but treated ourselves to a romantic dinner for two on the rooftop terrace. At our request, Pipa and a friend prepared a classic Baracoa style feast: Black bean soup, fish in coconut sauce, rice, plantain chips, salad, and for dessert, chocolate and strawberry ice cream accompanied by demitasses of coffee. Three people delivered the meal, so service was excellent. The cost for two, including two drinks and tip, was 24 CUCs. The Spanish-speaking family is friendly and flexible enough to accommodate same-day requests for a special dinner. Call in the morning or a day or two in advance if theres anything in partic! ular youd like to order.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Hidden gem, Romantic, Garden, Patio
Amenities: TV, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Balcony, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower

Easily the best food we had in Cuba! This Casa at Primero de Abril 54 in Baracoa is run by Alejandro and Susana. A pair of very friendly and easy going divorce attorneys that love to cook (rather than litigate). We stayed here for Christmas Eve 2010 and Alejandro made us a roast pig. Time of our lives.

Casa specifics: Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Cozy, Charming, Beautiful, Safe, Garden, Patio
Amenities: Laundry service, Garden, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Excellent. Has its own backdoor to the garden.
