At El Carruaje you will enjoy the elegance and welfare of our salons, all accompanied by excellent food and service. The specialty of the house is to serve you and make you feel satisfied and happy.

Anyone who thinks that has seen it all in Havana may be wrong when you will experience El Carruaje, a family restaurant opened in 2010 by Raulito and Milka, a marriage that has been proposed to make this spot a must for anyone visiting Havana.

The bucolic setting on the outskirts of tHavana, where the clear water of a swimming pool surrounded by greenery combines perfectly with the ranchón in which local food is served or in the dining room of the house, where you can taste the most delicious fusion cuisine make this restaurant a place to spend an unforgettable evening.

The seafood dishes and fresh fish, the colorful skewers the inevitable pork in its various varieties are as recommended in the imaginative menu and homemade desserts, and even offers suggestions for " Today's Kids" .

At El Carruaje, the most appetizing is not only its excellent cuisine, great cocktails and great service, but also the friendly and familiar treatment of the hosts, who make you feel from the first moment you enter the restaurant as one of the family that is invited to eat at home.

Restaurant El Carruaje

Restaurant El Carruaje is something really special in Havana Playa district, far away from Old Havana, Centro Havana or Vedado but worth the trip. Besides, when you book through Cuba Junky (see the link on top of this page) they pick you up and bring you back to your hotel or casa, so no worries for drinking and really easy.
The food is fantastic and portions are huge, the service is non-Cuban just perfect and the ambiance is romantic, lovely decorated and kind of luxury feeling. If the pool in the middle of the garden / terrace is for swimming or just a pool is still a question mark for me, I forgot to ask.
The owner showed me around the kitchen and all looks really professional and neat. The kitchen has a seperate air conditioned part for meat and other perishable food. They also have a seperate salon for business and special meetings.
Unfortunately they didn't pass our traditional "Flan-test". The flan was a bit too duro but nevertheless delicious.
Price is average in comparisson with other restaurants in Havana but cheap when you compare El Carruaje with restaurants from the same standards like La Guarida and Dona Carmela.

The taxi ride back to our home was a very happy Cuban adventure in an old Fiat 127 driven by an ex pilot from Cubana Airlines LOL
I recommend to have dinner at Restaurant El Carruaje to anyone who want to have a special and romantic evening.
