Casa Ony y Luis

We cannot recommend Ony and Luis' lovely home enough if you are looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Vinales. Ony and Luis are both very welcoming hosts - Luis has perhaps the widest smile ever! Luis speaks good English and makes you feel very at home. The room itself is spacious with two double beds, a private bathroom next door with a decent shower, and you have your own living room/dining area to relax in privately, complete with a fridge stocked with home made juices, beers and soft drinks. Juices are complimentary and delicious!

The casa is situated about 10 minutes or so walk from the main street and although it seems a little remote at first (compared to some of the more central casas you see in town) you soon get your bearings and it makes for a very nice walk, plus it means you get a fantastic view of the "mogotes" from the veranda as you sip one of Luis' home made mojitos (best we had in Cuba, and we tried lots!).

Another highlight is the delicious food - Luis is a chef at the La Ermita hotel that overlooks the valley so you get to experience his amazing cooking too! No word of a lie, Luis' pork was the best meal we ate during the two weeks we were there and by a long way! Ony and Luis even stock a very decent Chilean red to wash it all down with!

Overall we loved it, and it was our favourite casa in Cuba out of the three we stayed in.

A couple of tips for Vinales - the walk recommended in Lonely Planet (that runs out of town and past the baseball stadium, then loops back around the mogotes through the valley) is fantastic, and we recommend a refreshing swim and a sunset drink at the La Ermita hotel at the end of it, the view is stunning.

Luis is a natural host and is very keen to ensure that his guests enjoy their stay at his home. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable.

Casa Ony and Luis

We had a great time with Luis and Ony. The food was perfect, the best we had for 16 days in Cuba. They were very friendly and helpfull to us. They even took us to a tabacco factory in Vinales and told us everything about the area and tourist locations. We also liked the location of the casa very much because we really felt like one of the locals for 2 days. Like we belonged there. We had our own appartment which was very clean and nice to stay in. The appartment even had cold and hot water in the beautiful bathroom and also had our own terrasse with rocking chairs. We will recommend this Casa to everyone who like to stay in Vinales! Casa Ony y Luis

 
My boyfriend and I stayed two days at Casa Ony y Luis in Vinales. We had an amazing time. Vinales was a nice getaway from hectic Havana. The views in Vinales are absolutely stunning so if you can visit the region do so. We were lucky to get a room at Casa Ony y Luis for two nights. We were very pleased with our stay and access to AC in our room! The casa is a 10 minute walk from the main road. We loved the location because we really felt absorbed in the culture. We spent many hours just sitting on the porch and admiring the views. It was so nice for the locals to greet us as they walked by, a very different experience from Havana. We ate all of our meals at the Casa and were very impressed by the quality of the food and the kindness of Ony and Luis. We always had too much food to eat! Their breakfast should not be missed.

How was your room?: The room was very clean. We had no problems with the A/C. The bathroom was also very clean and we had access to hot water.
How was the food the offer?: The food was excellent. Luis makes a very good chicken dish. The breakfast was amazing! Also we really enjoyed the fresh pineapple.

Casa Luis y Ony

Having spent several days in Havana we journeyed out to Vinales, staying for 3 days in the casa of Luis y Ony. The accomadation was organized by cuba-junky. Luis met us at the Viazul bus-station. His casa is located in a quiet area, just a short stroll from the bus-station. It is a lovely place to stay.
Coming back to Vinales we will defenetly stay again in the casa of Luis y Ony.

How was your room?: Our review about the casa: a very clean sleeping room with two large comfortable beds. Connected was a dining room, a separat convenient bathroom and a terrace with rocking chairs.
How was the food the offer?: Luis and his wife are both great cooks, Luis is a professional one. The meals were abundant and we enjoyed the refreshments and snacks which were offered by the couple while we were sitting on the veranda and watching the rural life.

Casa Ony y Luis

My review about the casa: We knew as soon as we saw Lius's smiling face as he waited by the side of the road for us that we were in good hands, Luis and Ony are fantastic hosts, they really could not do enough for us, and they are both great cooks we eat some fantastic dinners the best being a local fish Pargo which was delicious, and the breakfasts were so plentiful that we did not need to eat again till dinner time. The Casa is beautiful clean roomy and quiet, but best of all is sitting on the verandah, watching the sun set over the Magotes, sipping Bucanero's or Mojito's and enjoying the local 'traffic' passing the door, bikes horses, and the occasional vintage car, this is definitely the place to stay in Vinlaes.

Casa Ony y Luis

Here you are at home. Ony and Luis are verry friendly. With a large bed-, bath- and dinnerroom you have a lot off space. Everything is verry clean, the food is greath and the mojito's the best we tasted. From Luis we rented 2 bikes to visit the beautiful surrounding. You can go to this casa without problem. Maybe one thing, when you leave here, you leave some friends.

Casa Ony y Louis

Ony y Louis are lovely people. We enjoyed very much staying at their house. Room and bathroom were very clean. Dinner and breakfast was soooo good and a lot. We would stay there again if we go back for a visit.

Casa Ony y Luis

We stayed 4 nights. Casa Ony y Luis was the highlight of our two-week holiday in Cuba.  You have a nice view of the mogotes from the terrace on the roof.  The casa is 3 minutes walk from the main street.  
There is only one room rental. The terrace, and living/dining room is also for your private use.  
The air-conditioned bedroom with two queen size beds and its attached modern bathroom were very comfortable.  
Luis, a professional cook with international experience prepared us delicious dinners.  The breakfast of Ony is abundant; various fresh juices, eggs, hot cakes, breads  and fruits. A fridge in your private dining room holds various cold drinks.   
Luis speaks English well and can help you make your stay memorable.  
Tip: Have a mojito on the terrace and watch the sun go down
